How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost? An Honest Breakdown from Your DMV Florist

You just got engaged, you open a search bar, and you type the question every couple asks: how much do wedding flowers cost? Then you get a wall of vague answers and "it depends" shrugs. Sound familiar?

We hear you! Florals are one of the most emotional parts of a wedding, and one of the most confusing to budget for. So at Blooming Blossoms, we talk about the numbers out loud. Let's walk through it together.

What Wedding Flowers Actually Cost

Here is the straight answer. At Blooming Blossoms, our full-service weddings start at a $5,000 minimum, and our average package in 2026 is about $5,200. Your final number moves up or down depending on a few things: the size of your wedding party, whether you want ceremony florals, and your guest count.

Why a minimum? Because a full-service wedding is a lot more than a bouquet. It includes design, sourcing, prep, delivery, and setup, so everything is in place before you walk down the aisle. Planning something smaller, like an elopement? Reach out anyway, and we will tell you straight what is possible.

The Four Things That Drive Your Price

Once you understand what moves the number, you are in control of it. Here is what matters most.

1. Your wedding party. Every bridesmaid bouquet and boutonniere adds up, so a smaller wedding party simplifies your total.

2. Ceremony florals. Arches and aisle arrangements take more flowers, labor, and setup time. If the ceremony is the moment you are dreaming about, put your budget there.

3. Guest count and tables. More guests usually means more tables, and more tables means more centerpieces. Fewer, bolder centerpieces can look just as stunning.

4. The flowers themselves. Some blooms are naturally more budget-friendly than others. Tell us your favorites, and we will show you where to splurge and where to save.

Smart Ways to Save Without Losing the Lush Look

This is where we get excited, because a great florist is also a great problem solver. Here are practical ways to stretch your florals.

  • Pick your "hero" moments. Decide where your guests will look most, like the ceremony backdrop, your bouquet, and the head table. Invest there and keep everything else simple.

  • Lean on greenery and filler. They create volume and movement at a friendly price point, so arrangements feel full without relying only on the priciest blooms.

  • Choose a Budget option. We offer Standard and Budget versions of both our Bridal Bouquet and Bridesmaids Bouquet, so you can match your style to your numbers.

  • Mix full-service with a little DIY. This is our favorite! Let our team handle the high-impact pieces, then add a hands-on moment, like a bouquet bar for your guests. It is personal, fun, and memorable.

A Little Story About Why We Talk Money

Our founder, Christin, started Blooming Blossoms after her own wedding planning experience. Finding florals that fit her vision and budget was harder than it should have been, and clear answers from florists were harder still. She never forgot that feeling, and it is why we are open about our process and pricing today. When you know the numbers, you can plan with confidence, and that is when the fun starts.

Not Ready for Full Service? Start with a Workshop

Maybe a full wedding package is not the right fit right now, and that is completely okay! Our workshops are a joyful, low-pressure way to get your hands in the blooms. Private workshops are $65 for a standard bouquet and $80 for a premium bouquet per person with a low minimum, and online workshops run $80 to $120 per seat. Planning a corporate or private event instead? Those start at $1,000, with setup and cleanup included.

Let's Make Your Flowers Work for Your Budget

At Blooming Blossoms, we believe flowers should be joyful and accessible for everyone, whether you are saying "I do" at a grand venue or sharing a quiet moment with the people you love most. Your budget is not a limit on your vision. It is the starting point for a creative conversation, and we love one of those.
