Designing DC: Our Upcoming May Weddings at The Hay-Adams and St. Francis Hall

Spring in the City: Designing for DC’s Most Iconic Venues

Spring has officially arrived in Washington, DC, and the city is buzzing with more than just cherry blossoms! At Blooming Blossoms, we’ve seen a massive surge in couples searching for the perfect wedding florist in DC, and we couldn't be more thrilled to share what we’ve been working on.

As a boutique floral studio, we pride ourselves on turning a bride's unique inspiration into a living masterpiece. This May, we are heading to two of the most prestigious venues in the capital to bring two very different—but equally stunning—visions to life.

Whimsical garden inspiration for our upcoming celebration at The Hay-Adams. We love the mix of classic peonies with dramatic hanging amaranthus.

May 2nd: Whimsical Luxury at The Hay-Adams

We are kicking off the month at the historic Hay-Adams. Designing for a wedding overlooking the White House requires a balance of timeless sophistication and fresh, modern flair.

The Vision: Our bride is dreaming of a "Whimsical & Garden Style" celebration.

  • The Bouquet: A dramatic, large cascading bridal bouquet featuring lush greenery, delicate Ranunculus, and soft Peonies. The standout detail? Long, romantic strands of hanging Amaranthus for high-fashion movement.

  • The Reception: We are transforming the ballroom with soaring candelabras draped in greenery and amaranthus, creating a "living" garden effect indoors. The sweetheart table will feature a breathtaking floral waterfall spilling toward the floor.

A peek at the vibrant wildflower palette for our May 16th wedding at St. Francis Hall. This 'Sunset' color story is a 2026 favorite!

May 16th: Wildflower Whimsy at St. Francis Hall

Later this month, we’re heading to the stunning St. Francis Hall in NE DC for a celebration that is all about bold color and organic texture.

The Vision: A vibrant, "just-picked-from-the-meadow" wildflower party.

  • The Aesthetic: We are trading classic whites for a punchy palette of blue, red, and pink.

  • The Details: The bridal bouquet will be a texture-rich mix of seasonal wildflowers finished with extra-long, flowy ribbons.

  • Smart Design: To maximize the beauty, we are creating two XL floral pedestals for the outdoor ceremony that will be repurposed to frame the head table for a "wow-moment" reception entrance.

Looking Ahead: Our 2026 Calendar is Open!

The "Wedding Florist DC" search spike isn't just for this spring—our 2026 calendar is filling up fast with some incredible local venues. We are already hard at work prepping for:

  • October 3, 2026: A sophisticated luxury celebration at The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown.

  • October 17, 2026: An elegant autumn affair at the Washington Golf & Country Club in Arlington.

Whether you are dreaming of a classic hotel ballroom or a hidden garden sanctuary, we specialize in bringing your specific vision to life.
